Larson Traditional Sugar Cookies


1/2 c. Shortening
1/4 c. Butter (softened)
1 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
2 1/2 c. Fllour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp Salt

Cream wet ingredients. Gradually mix in dry ingredients. Chill.
Bake 6-8 min at 400 degrees

(The great thing about this recipe is if you don't have time to chill, you can roll and cut anyway and it still works)

Vanilla Frosting:
1/2 shortening
1/2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Vanilla
3 c Powdered Sugar
1/4 c Mild

Mix shortening, salt and vanilla and 1 cup of powdered sugar. Add the milk and remaining sugar alternately. Mix until smooth.
