Waffles

Okay so I did not take this picture but we all know what waffles look like right?! You can make this recipe with a normal waffle maker or a belgium waffle maker. I have had them both ways and they always taste delicious!

Sift:
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar

Mix:
1 egg
2 tsp. melted butter
1 1/4 cup buttermilk
splash of vanilla (if you want)

Makes only a few waffles but they really are delicious! I got this recipe from a friend from High School. His mom made these after his farewell for everyone. I usually top with buttermilk syrup (recipe below)...whipped cream and strawberries.

Buttermilk Syrup:

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cube butter
2 tbsp. karo syrup
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 tsp soda

Put in a big sauce pan and boil for 4 to 7 min. Once done add 2 tsp. vanilla

ENJOY!

Buttermilk Syrup is way good! I have a different recipe I'll post. I'm such a VANILLA girl and I think it tastes way better than maple.
